Biodiversity is declining in the North Sea, and intervention is needed. Wind farms offer a unique chance to restore underwater nature, but which measures really work? And how do we bring the right people together to learn and take action?
Our approach

The challenge
Learning by doing
Teamwork
Core activities
Marine missions
We’re working to restore marine life in five offshore wind farms. At these sites, we breed and release healthy oysters, build artificial reefs, refine foundation designs, and test innovative monitoring techniques.

Collaboration
We take pride in leading the way by uniting partners across the offshore energy, government, and science sectors. By bringing together parties with complimentary interests and valuable expertise, we can accelerate meaningful change.

Knowledge Sharing
There’s a lot to learn about underwater nature enhancements. What if there was one platform where you could access scientific knowledge and real world experience? Our answer to this is The Toolbox: an open platform for knowledge-sharing and learning all about marine nature restoration. You can discover real nature enhancement projects, add your own, and contribute expertise to help others who share our mission.

Going international
Nature restoration in offshore wind farms isn’t limited to the North Sea. That’s why we’re sharing our mission internationally. From WindEurope in Copenhagen to the International Partnering Forum (IPF) in the USA, we aim to inspire others into action to help us strengthen marine biodiversity. The goal of a healthy shared sea should belong to everyone. Read more about it in our agenda.
